Graphic Design studio course taken at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad during the Fall 2015 semester.
My final project was to create a visual identity (logo, stationary, web landing page, sign) for a new hostel in Copenhagen. Global Hagen is an actual hostel that is run by volunteers, and all of the profits go to the humanitarian organization Action Aid Denmark.
I was required to use Global Hagen Hostel's current red and blue colors and Helvetica typeface.
WHAT I DID:
When approaching this project, I wanted to create an identity that emphasized Global Hagen’s unique position as a place where visitors can connect across cultures. After exploring multiple different concepts, including the use of transparency and halftones, I decided to focus on depicting an abstract image of connection. The final logo represents the hostel’s global and playful nature as a platform for sharing cultures.
